Emoji favicon generator
No logo yet? An emoji or a bold initial on a coloured shape makes a clear favicon that still reads at 16 px. Type one or two characters, choose a square, rounded or round shape and the colours, and you get the same complete set as from an image: favicon.ico, PNG sizes, an Apple touch icon and a web manifest. The emoji is drawn with your device's emoji font, so it looks the way it does on your screen.

Paste this into the <head> of your pages:
Put the files in your site's root folder, next to your homepage. If you put them somewhere else, change the paths.
How it works
- Type an emoji or one or two letters into the field.
- Choose the shape, background colour and text colour. The small preview updates as you type.
- Check the tab preview, then download the ZIP and paste the HTML into your <head>.
FAQ
Why does the emoji look different on another computer?
Every system has its own emoji designs: Apple, Google, Microsoft and Samsung all draw them differently. The favicon is a picture of the emoji as your device draws it, so every visitor then sees exactly that picture, whatever system they use.
Can I use Apple or Microsoft emoji in my favicon?
Their emoji designs are copyrighted artwork, and their licences don't clearly cover use as a website's logo. For a personal page that's rarely an issue. For a business, make the icon on a device with an openly licensed set, such as Google's Noto Emoji (Android and most Linux systems), or use letters instead.
Can I type a whole word?
No, the field takes two characters at most. At 16 px a third letter becomes unreadable, which is why most text favicons use one initial or a two-letter monogram.
Is there an SVG version of emoji favicons?
No. An SVG with an emoji in it would be drawn with each visitor's own emoji font and could look different everywhere, so this mode only makes PNG and ICO files. For an SVG favicon, drop an SVG logo in image mode.
Is anything uploaded?
No. The characters are drawn on a canvas in your browser and the files are created there too. Nothing is sent to a server.
